Beratungstag für Übersetzer*innen und Autor*innen rund um das Thema Stipendien und Netzwerke mit Odile Kennel.
Odile Kennel, geboren als Kind einer deutsch-französischen Städtepartnerschaft, zweisprachig aufgewachsen. Lebt in Berlin als freie Autorin und Übersetzerin vor allem von Lyrik und Kinderbilderbüchern. Zuletzt erhielt sie das Stipendium der Stiftung Preußische Seehandlung, das Arbeitsstipendium des Berliner Senats sowie das Elmar-Tophoven-Stipendium (für eine Übersetzung). Sie ist seit 2001 freiberuflich tätig, seit 2004 als literarische Übersetzerin und bisher nicht verhungert. Hält viel von Vernetzung: ist Mitfrau bei VS und VdÜ, bei der Autorinnenvereinigung e.V. sowie der Freie Literaturszene e.V. Erledigt ihre Buchhaltung selbst und gerne und kann hier Tipps geben, auch zu Fragen der Umsatzsteuer (für alle tiefergehenden Gestaltungsmöglichkeiten verweist sie allerdings auf die Steuerberaterin ihres Vertrauens). Sie freut sich insbesondere über zukünftige Übersetzer*innen, denen sie gerne einen ersten Überblick über einschlägige Institutionen, Webseiten, Adressen verschafft, die den Einstieg erleichtern.
Ist prinzipiell für Fragen aller Art zur Freiberuflichkeit offen und beantwortet diese nach bestem Wissen und Gewissen.
Online-Seminar // How to write a grant application (Kulturförderpunkt)

This Grant Writing seminar will give the main perspectives and tools for writing a competitive grant application especially for local and international funding programmes. In six hours, the participants will be instructed through the narrative structure step by step and they will learn how to formulate an application. Additionally, the decision process in funding application evaluations will be explored and ways of finding suitable local and international application calls for a project or artwork will be discovered.
Online Seminar
The six-hour seminar aims to develop competence in planning and applying for funding for projects or residencies in local, national and international contexts. Therefore, the participants will be guided through two modules. The first one deals with funding bodies and the decision process in funding application evaluations. It also offers advice for the participants to overcome their writing blockage. The second module addresses applications, time and budget management, and provides tips and tricks on how to create a project description, write an artist statement and maintain a focused timeline during the application process.

The seminar is aimed at artists, curators and other cultural operators who need support for artistic projects and applications for residency programmes.
